Located about a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive from Tsukuba Station, Chukasoba JUN-CHAN is a local favorite ramen shop run by a chef with a background in traditional Japanese cuisine.
The broth is a beautifully clear and balanced soup made from locally sourced chicken and pork bones, resulting in a light yet deeply flavorful experience. Both shio (salt) and shoyu (soy sauce) options are available, with the shio in particular showcasing the rich umami of the chicken base.
You can choose between flat medium-thick noodles or thin curly noodles, each offering a different but satisfying texture that pairs well with the broth.
One of their specialties is the “Hitachi no Kagayaki” chashu ramen, made with premium pork raised in Ibaraki Prefecture. This dish highlights the shop’s commitment to using high-quality, local ingredients.
🍜 “Delicate chicken-based soup, handcrafted noodles, and flavorful chashu—this is a bowl you’ll want to revisit again and again.”
Their juicy fried chicken (karaage) and budget-friendly “student ramen” are also local hits. The shop is cozy with around 13 seats and often has a line, especially during peak hours.
