A Hidden Gem in Masuda: Gyosai Dining Niwanoki(魚菜ダイニング にわのき)

izakaya

While exploring the quiet city of Masuda in Shimane Prefecture, I stumbled upon a true culinary gem — Gyosai Dining Niwanoki. This intimate restaurant, run by a former professional chef, offers seafood dishes that are nothing short of exceptional.

Small in Size, Big in Flavor

The space is cozy and minimal, allowing diners to fully appreciate the food in a calm, relaxed atmosphere.
Each dish is prepared with care and precision, but what truly stood out was the beautifully presented sashimi platter.
The fish was not only fresh — it was deeply flavorful, showcasing the chef’s skill in bringing out the best of each ingredient.

A Chance for a Conversation with the Chef

Visit during quieter hours and you might be lucky enough to enjoy a conversation with the chef himself.
He’s warm, knowledgeable, and happy to share stories about the local ingredients and his cooking philosophy — a truly enriching experience for any food lover.
