Located about a 10-minute walk from Katata Station in Otsu City, Nouka Restaurant Daikichi is a farm-owned restaurant operated by a ranch with over 100 years of history.
They raise their own Omi beef using pure spring water from the Hira mountains and natural local feed, offering a menu full of steak, sukiyaki, and yakiniku dishes.
This time, I ordered the “Omi Beef Two-Layer Hitsumabushi.”
The dashi-chazuke (broth-poured rice) style was phenomenal—it was so delicious I forgot to take a picture!
To be honest, while there are many restaurants serving Omi beef, the quality and taste really vary.
But here, you can’t go wrong. Their beef is consistently excellent and absolutely delicious!
With a calm atmosphere and options for steak counters or yakiniku courses, this is the perfect place to savor the rich, melt-in-your-mouth flavor of premium Omi beef.
