Tomoei is one of the most famous unagi (eel) restaurants in the Hakone region — and for good reason.
Whether it’s the shirayaki (grilled without sauce) or kabayaki (grilled with sweet soy glaze), the eel here is incredibly fluffy, tender, and full of rich flavor. Every bite literally melts in your mouth.

It’s located just one stop before Hakone-Yumoto Station, so it’s a perfect stop before or after enjoying the hot springs in the area.
